GAT social enterprise is established in collaboration with the Foundation Cerebral Palsy Africa (CPA) and Shonaquip Social Enterprise (ShonaquipSE) with the aim to improve the functioning and inclusion of children and youth with disabilities in Ethiopia through access to appropriate assistive technologies.
To achieve it’s aims, the Centre will
1) in Collaboration with ShonaquipSE, assemble and manufacture quality AT products appropriate to the Ethiopian context;
2) Train and develop the AT curriculum for Therapists and Rehabilitation Workers; 3) Provide outreach AT services to communities;
4) Provide a range of training programmes for parents and carers of children with disabilities.
5) Build a database and support network of children with disabilities and their families in Ethiopia,
6) Provide Disability Awareness Training at various levels (corporate, community, university, school etc.);
7) Research and publish reports related to disability inclusion in Ethiopia
