The Graphene Technology project produces graphene oxide (GO), graphene (reduced graphene oxide) and functionalized graphenes. Currently, the company has developed a cheap and scalable method for the synthesis of graphene oxide, registered as "know-how". The method allows to obtain high purity GO (the amount of impurities does not exceed 0.1 at.%), with a desired size of monolayer particles in the range of 500 nm – 100 μm. Also, scalable methods for the synthesis of the set of controllably functionalized graphenes were developed: aminated, brominated, carbonylated and carboxylated graphene derivatives. Synthesis modes with the maximum yield and technological schemes of production of the target products were worked out. Products are supplied in the form of dispersions (aqueous and organic), pastes, aerogels, films and papers. With production up to 1 kg per month, the price of a product is from $10 per 1 g. After the scaling up to 100 kg per month the price will be $2 per 1 g, and further switching to production capacities from 1000 kg per month will result in lowering of the price of GO will to be less than $0.2-0.3 per 1 g. The prices of functionalized graphenes range from $ 13 to $ 80 per 1 g, depending on the type of product, with a subsequent reduction in prices to $ 0.5-17 per 1 g of the selected product subject to scaling of production.
The produced materials are of a high interest for the applications in the electronic industry (touch screens, supercapacitors, sensors and microelectronic chips), composite materials industry (aerospace, medical implants, engineering materials), catalysis (carriers for hydrogen energy catalysts and other industries), R&D (startups, research institutes, private laboratories, R&D departments of innovative businesses from sectors above).
