Green and White Hope, Inc was inspired out of the tragic loss of the founder's 18-year-old nephew while commercial fishing on July 21, 2023. In his memory, this organization is focused on saving lives of commercial fishermen and bringing every fisherman home to their families and communities. We are a registered nonprofit organization in Maine as of April 23, 2025.
Commercial Fishing is the 2nd most dangerous profession in the United States, second only to logging. A commercial fisherman is 40X more likely to have a fatal accident than the average of all tracked professions in the United States. We are dedicated to bringing all our commercial fishermen home from their haul. To achieve our mission we are focused in 3 primary areas of improvement; Expanding Safety Education, Exploiting Technology and equipment, and Accelerating the Rescue & Recovery Processes.
Our mission is to prevent fatalities among commercial fishermen through safety programs and technology advancement, while also advancing recovery capabilities in support of our Maine communities that rely on the sea.
Our vision is zero commercial fishing fatalities and less than 24 hour recovery times.
