Green The Environment (GTE) is a non-profit, non-political, and voluntary social welfare organization founded in July 1997 in Bangladesh. Rooted in values of democracy, inclusion, and sustainability, GTE works to uplift rural communities—particularly farmers—by addressing key barriers such as lack of education, limited access to modern agricultural tools, and climate-related challenges.
With a focus on agriculture, environment protection, disaster management, and livelihood development, GTE empowers marginalized populations, especially women and children, through training, capacity building, and support in organic farming, agro-processing (jam, jelly, pickle production), health, sanitation, and education.
Operating across remote regions including the Chittagong Hill Tracts and Haor areas, GTE’s network of 220 professionals and 5 branch offices collaborates closely with farmers, civil society, government, and development partners to build sustainable, inclusive communities.
Vision: A just, independent society where all individuals enjoy equal rights and opportunities.
Mission: To ensure access to education, health, sustainable livelihoods, and social justice for the underprivileged—regardless of background or identity.
