Green Books
Green books is a publishing Company founded by the expatriate community of Malayalees, resdiding in the gulf countries. The Company was founded in 2001 by late Shri. R Valsan( Krishnadas) who was a journalist writer and cultural activist. The first chairman of green books was late Shri CG Santha Kumar, who was a founder member of Kerala Sastra Sahitya Parishath and author of several science & oriental books. Upon his demise in 2007 Shri.K V Vasudevan was elected as chairman of the company, who is a promoter of social and cultural values while being a reputed entrepreneur in the UAE.
Greenbooks is a publisher and bookseller with head office in Ayyanthole Thrissur Kerala and has published over 2500 titles mainly literature in Malayalam fiction nonfiction biography autobiography poetry and foreign translations. Green books have their own book shop at the prominent cities of Kerala ie. Thrissur, Calicut and Trivandrum.
Greenbooks is one of the last entrants to the field of publishing in Kerala. By the time the major part of the intellectual property was held by the existing publishers and hence required a different approach to the selection of products. Greenbooks started with world classics and then moved to a more traditional market by creating new products, Suvarnakathakal (Golden stories), PriyaKavithakal (Most loved poems), and Biographies of outstanding persons and Children Literature. Further we have started promoting new writers with talent by publishing their first works. Many contemporary outstanding authors had their beginning with Green Books.
