Founded in 2013, Gritstyle is a play on the acronym, “Girls Raised in the South”. Originally headquartered in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Gritstyle initially focused on southern style and sports. Later, after gaining a large international audience, the site shifted gears to include international fashion and VOD. Gritstyle now has a strong focus on beauty, style and covering live fashion --such as New York Fashion Week -- and red carpet events. With a clever and quirky voice, Gritstyle translates the trends every day. The site is constantly evolving, creating, and engaging with fresh -- and sometimes unconventional -- ideas.
In October 2014, Gritstyle launched luxury fashion and style, adding two contributors in New York and California to provide in-depth editorial content on luxury style and aspirational fashion.
More lifestyle was added to the mix in January 2015 -- with regular contributors in New York, Austin, New Orleans, London, & Chicago. Sharing what's hot, what's new, what's worth seeing and worth doing, lifestyle debuts in February to offer exciting original content from up-and-coming writers.
