The Grote or Sint-Jacobskerk is situated right in the city centre of The Hague. It was founded in the late
13th century, probably as a wooden church, and it has an impressive history. Already back in the 15th
century a congress took place: the 9th chapter of the knights of the Order of the Golden Fleece took
place at the Grote Kerk in 1456. Nowadays the church – a national monument – is used for all sorts of
events, such as congress dinners, fairs, festivals and congresses.
The largest spaces of the event location are the so called Church and Choir. These spaces can be
separated with large curtains, which can be easily opened and closed. The Church and Choir can also
be rented separately.
The Grote or Sint-Jacobskerk is an event location with modern facilities, such as high voltage power
supply, floorheating and air heating system. The church has modern toilets and facilities for the
disabled.
With 2.100 m2 the Grote or Sint-Jacobskerk is one of the largest event locations in the city centre of
The Hague.
