Groundwork South and North Tyneside is part of a national federation of charities mobilising practical community action on poverty and the environment, across the UK.
We work in partnership with public, private and third sector organisations to deliver projects and services with the aim to create green and vibrant neighbourhoods whilst building strength and resilience within communities.
We are passionate about; creating green jobs that build wealth in local communities, changing behaviour to reduce wasted food, energy and water, providing biodiverse, accessible green spaces, supporting businesses to be more responsible, and empowering communities to lead activities that improve their quality of life and promote health and wellbeing.

We invest in local culture and heritage, and through our partnership with South Tyneside Council, we operate Jarrow Hall Anglo-Saxon Farm, Village and Bede Museum, an iconic regional venue and home to ancient rare breed animals.
In addition, we manage West Boldon Lodge Environmental Education Centre, in partnership with National Grid, that deliver a programme of activities for schools, families, children and young people, with the aim of inspiring, educating and re-connecting people with nature.
