The origins of Enciclopèdia Catalana date back to 1965 and are closely linked to the success and social and cultural relevance of the *Gran Enciclopèdia Catalana*. In 1980, the Fundació Enciclopèdia Catalana was established to bring together all the entity’s companies, forming a solid publishing group with a strong presence in the sector for decades and a firm commitment to the Catalan language and culture. In 2025, following the sale of some of its publishing imprints, Enciclopèdia Catalana embarks on a new stage, continuing its mission of education and knowledge in Catalan at the service of the country, thus reaffirming its foundational objectives.
