Located in Tianhe distric, the central area of Guangzhou city which successfully held the 2010 (16th) Asian Games, Tianhe Software Park is a professional software park run by the state. It is one of the 11 China Software Industry bases and a Model Park of the National Pilot City of Service Sourcing, home to 1,400 software enterprises with more than 84,000 employees. Most of these enterprises are engaged in five major IT sectors: telecom, software sourcing, finance innovation service, e-business, network game and animated comic.
The Administrative Commission of Tianhe Software Park is the administrating and service agency. It's major missions are to develop new and profitable environment, gather governmental, civil and academic resources, lease land and office floor, provide public services for the IT players of the park.
It is now develping a brand new eco-friendly campus (Gaotang) covering 12.5 square kms in the northwest of Tianhe District which has already attracted China Mobile, China Telecom, Pacific-online and more than 40 software companies to stay. However, the ultimate target is to develop this area into a software community hosting 35,000 residents and 84,000 IT professionals.
