Our Story: From Bayou Beginnings to Industry Innovators It all started with Bobby & Debbie Guidry’s vision, a couple with deep roots in the community, who saw the potential in the humble catfish. With hands and hearts devoted to the craft, they began their journey—trapping, and eventually processing the day’s catch in a small, bustling 20’x20’ building. Their dedication to research and development in those early years laid the foundation and ultimately led to the discovery of another source of catfish that was not wild-caught. In 1976, our founders saw an opportunity in the farm-raised catfish industry, this discovery set the stage for the thriving business we have today. Our Growth: Embracing Change While Honoring Tradition Our passion has guided us from a small, family-run operation to an expansive enterprise, employing over 400 dedicated individuals and operating out of a 100,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. Despite the undeniable changes, some things at Guidry’s will always remain the same; Our dedication to excellence is unwavering—every catfish product we produce is a promise of quality.
