Halifax Rugby Union is the oldest Rugby Union Club in the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale (Calderdale has six Rugby Union clubs). Our membership age ranges from 3 to over 80 and across a wide range of age groups with both male and female playing and non-playing members. Halifax Rugby Union has a proud history, winning 13 Yorkshire Challenge Cups, Champions of: North East 1 (1999/2000), North 2 East (2000/2001), North 1 (2001/2002), National League 3 North (2004/2005) and Yorkshire 6 (2009/2010), Winners of RFU Powergen Intermediate Cup (2002), Highest League Position: National League 2 (2005 – 2008). From the 1920s until the 1950s Halifax had 3 England & 1 Scotland Internationals playing for the club during their international career, including 1 British Lions Captain. MISSION STATEMENT OF HALIFAX RUGBY UNION = to provide a fun, sociable sporting atmosphere for all Club members, in a sustainable manner to ensure the continued sporting future of Halifax Rugby Union Football Club.
