Stichting Hanarth Fonds

The Hanarth Fonds was founded on September 28, 2018, using the legacy of Arthur del Prado, founder and former CEO of ASM International. The fund aims to promote and enhance the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve the diagnosis, treatment and outcome of patients with cancer. Therefore the Hanarth Fonds supports scientific research that focuses on primarily, but not exclusively, rare types of cancer. Targeted applicants are clinicians or scientists with a background in oncology and an interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning joined with a partner or partners with a background in artificial intelligence and machine learning and an interest in oncology. The fund deals with two types of financing: 1) Research projects in which algorithms in the field of artificial intelligence are developed and/or applied to data sets; 2) A fellowship to attend a specific training trajectory which recognizes the added value of incorporating machine learning into research, daily clinical work and organization.
