Tara is the founder and director of Happy Kids Occupational Therapy. She is an experienced O.T. who has worked in hospital and community mental health settings, in an autism-specialist school, and in private practice across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
She is passionate about working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety, and difficulty participating and engaging in their everyday activities. Tara loves to motivate the young people that she works with by using their interests and passions, and supports them to reach their full potential by utilising a team approach with the family, education staff, and other health professionals.
Tara has also worked in a TEACCH autism program setting, where she developed a strong interest and skill set in providing structure and reducing the associated anxiety for many children with ASD. Tara also provides consultation services for schools, families, community centres, and private organisations who want to make their environments more friendly and accessible for people with ASD.
