Tom & Sarah Watts Jones returned to Aberthin in the Vale of Glamorgan where Tom had his first pint to open the Hare & Hounds in 2015, the pub has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2017 as well as achieving many other accolades. After the success of the Hare & Hounds they opened The Heathcock in Llandaff, Cardiff, in 2018, this is now a busy local watering hole that Jay Rayner described as ‘Identifies the good things, does them well’ in his glowing review in 2022. In July 2023 they ventured across the bridge and opened The Clifton, in Clifton Village, Bristol, within not even a year of opening the pub entered Estrella's top 100 gastropub list at 65, earned itself a Michelin Bib Gourmand and numerous national press reviews.
We maintain a small holding behind the Hare & Hounds where we employ one full time grower to nurture our own flowers, vegetables & fruit as well as our 4 beehives and soon to be chickens.
We also have two bakeries, the Hare & Hounds Bakery in Cowbridge and The Heathcock Bakery & Deli in Llandaff.
