Harlem Community Center

Harlem Community Center company information, Employees & Contact Information

Harlem Community Center was created in 1957 to serve the recreational needs of the residents of Harlem Township. The citizens wanted to provide constructive adult leadership and safe recreational opportunities. The group was originally called the Harlem Youth Council and was granted a state charter as a not-for-profit organization on June 21, 1957. Due to the rapid growth of the center, three acres of land in Machesney Park were donated as the new site for the center which is its home today. HCC’s mission statement; HCC promotes a strong community by offering a broad range of programs which support the educational, social, and recreational needs of families and individuals. HCC believes that all individuals should be provided a positive environment in which to grow.
