Harmonee is a Bulgarian company engaged in the modernization and expansion of the zinc production of the former Lead-Zinc Smelter in Kardjali, southern Bulgaria.
The New Zinc Smelter will be a modern medium-scale zinc smelter with an annual capacity of 45,000 tonnes of SGH (special high-grade zinc) and 100,000 tonnes of sulphuric acid. The facility will utilise a Roast-leach-electrowin process for zinc production, which will operate in compliance with the highest environmental, health and safety standards. It is strategically located in close proximity to the major southeastern ports in Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey and has a well established local rail and road network.
Presently, the New Zinc Smelter is undergoing engineering design and permitting. Start of construction is scheduled for the first half of 2016 and commissioning is expected in early 2018.
