At Headway Black Country, we are dedicated to supporting adults impacted by acquired brain injury (ABI), along with their families and carers. ABI can impact anyone at any time, often resulting from incidents such as accidents, strokes, or infections.
Each year, approximately 350,000 people in the UK are admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury—that's one every 90 seconds. The effects can be life-altering, not only for the individuals but also for their loved ones.
Our comprehensive services are designed to meet the unique needs of each person, empowering them to overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
We offer:
• Life Skills Services: Including cognitive skills sessions, social interaction, creative arts, communication skills, computer strategies, interactive music, recreation, and daily living skills.
• Outreach Support: Providing one-to-one assistance, events, and drop-in sessions in various settings, including hospitals, homes, and our centres.
• Counselling Services: Affordable and accessible support tailored to individuals impacted by brain injury.
• Carers Support: Regular groups and events fostering connection, shared experiences, and mutual support.
We operate across the Black Country, with centres in Dudley and Willenhall, offering a safe and inclusive environment for individuals to connect, learn, and grow.
