HealthPOINT Security Services is part of HealthPOINT at Dakota State University and was originally formed in 2010 using federal funds to be a health information technology (HIT) resource and support center for all South Dakota healthcare providers. Our team has provided technical assistance and guidance to hundreds of providers to become meaningful users of certified electronic health records (EHR) technology.
As part of Dakota State University located in Madison, SD, there was a natural gravitation to expand HealthPOINT services into security and cyber security since the institution has a nation reputation in these areas. Knowledge of healthcare industry and the requirements for Meaningful Use combined with access to security expertise catapulted HealthPOINT forward to offering practices services that meet their compliance needs and help secure their Protected Health Information (PHI).
