In 2012, Susan partnered with Catherine MacAskill. Catherine, whose background includes over two decades in yachting and business coaching, is a business management expert who excels in creative marketing, critical issue resolution, business sales and business practice innovations. With this new team, Susan and Catherine discovered an unfilled niche in the marketplace, property owners who require an engineering firm to meet governmental compliance mandates. They moved quickly into this speciality, which evolved into them becoming compliance experts for properties dealing with government mandates and state/federal regulations across four areas: marina National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance, construction NPDES inspections, Sanitary Sewer Evaluations Surveys (SSES), and Stormwater 5-year renewal certifications. As these new facets of the firm took off, Catherine and Susan created a turnkey solution for their clients, delivering all engineering-related services in one place. The firm is now a leader in project management, overseeing and managing engineering design, permitting, inspection services, contractor management and certifications. Together, they streamlined the engineering inspection processes, while developing the firm’s compliance knowledge and expertise. Holland Engineering has developed into a leader in NPDES compliance, Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Surveys and stormwater certifications, recognized by State, County and City authorities as providing plans, reports and calculations that meet the most stringent requirements. All project and engineering-related services, from inception to completion, are available in-house and managed by a team of experienced professionals. Additionally, the team’s compliance knowledge and expertise ensure that clients have total peace of mind since the firm can now handle all of the regulations related to their properties.
