HelloWorld Oktatás és Fejlesztés Egyesület Overview

Turbo Pascal is a great programming language and it does not hurt if students are aware of the main differences between input and output peripherals; however the world of IT is more diverse than that. It is very difficult to keep up with recent years’ changes for the users, let alone for education. Recognizing the shortcomings of Hungarian IT education in the spring of 2015, the editorial board of PC World decided to launch its first dedicated camp for children, which got the HelloWorld name. Thanks to the extensive media portfolio, and the 25 years of experience, the first programing camp was sold out in no time, and the PC World team has shown how they envision the modern IT training. The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) curriculum later stretched the frames of a single camp, so Robot- and drone programmer (robot.helloworldonline.hu), Minecraft (minecraft.helloworldonline.hu) and Unity (unity.pcworld.hu) camps were added to HelloWorld’s repertiore, and starting this year, the Space exploration and Board game planner camps will extend this list further. Over the last four years, more than 1000 teenagers have visited one of the 19 camps. HelloWorld became an entire initiative, with more camps, IT competitions, school events, individual news site (helloworldonline.hu) and a team of experts. In January 2018, the HelloWorld Association was separated from PC World editorial and Project029 and now represents the idea of modern IT education as an independent organization.
