Helping Hands for Nepal is an Australian-based not-for-profit with the primary objective of establishing ongoing partnerships between the Disabled Rehabilitation Centre (Nepal), 4SmilingFaces (Netherlands) and Australian-based partner organisations. It is the purpose of these relationships: to support fundraising efforts for the building of a new Disabled Rehabilitation Centre (DRC) and Residential Boarding School House in Nayapati, Kathmandu; for partner organisations and associations to provide on-ground support to the Disabled Rehabilitation Centre; and to provide on-ground support to secondary projects in the Kathmandu Valley Region; including surrounding schools, medical clinics and children's homes. All funding will initially support the ambitions of the DRC in constructing a new, larger and fully wheelchair accessible centre for children and young adults with a variety of complex, physical disabilities and mental illnesses. The construction of the new DRC will effectively triple their housing capacity. Additionally, funding will support the building of an attached School House, which will provide tailored secondary and trade education according to the unique needs of the residents of the DRC.
