Located in the calm, sheltered waters of Whangarei Harbour, Heron Ship Repair (HSR) manages vessel refit and new build projects. Heron Construction purchased Ship Repair in 2018, retaining all the existing personnel, and with it, the local knowledge. We have highly experienced marine fabricating, engineering and blasting and painting departments. Our project managers work very closely with vessel representatives and stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes.
We have a large slipway for vessels up to 1800 tonne which often handles two ships at once, along with sheds and workshops where we undertake new build and fabrication projects. HSR also has a private wharf for layby and in water projects, with 260m of berth.
HSR has facilities for crew and contractors, including kitchen, showers, toilets, a fully equipped office with internet, and easy access to Whangarei CBD. We can arrange rental vehicles, accommodation, crew visas and permits and look after you during your time in port.
