Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) sees itself as a university of the performative arts and their sciences. We promote reflection and interdisciplinarity, consistently relate to the present, and assume social responsibility.
The range of artistic, pedagogical and scientific teaching is reflected in 27 degree programs, in which we successfully train students for professions in music, theater and dance in a practice-oriented manner.
Our central task is the excellent education of our students. The intensive personal artistic and academic supervision of students, the combination of theory and practice, as well as a wide variety of projects and cooperations characterize the special quality of education at the HfMDK. Special emphasis ist put on the creation of contemporary art forms.
As Hessen's only university for the performative arts and their sciences, we are located in the heart of Frankfurt and the culturally vibrant Rhine-Main region: a lively art venue in the middle of society, where the future of the arts is explored and created - shaped by the people who study, teach and work here with a love of experimentation, passion and commitment.
As a „networking“ university, we cooperate with all important cultural institutions in the region and beyond and are committed to long-term projects for the participation of all people in the arts.
