Himalayan Sherpa Foundation Overview

Himalayan Sherpa Foundation (HSF) is a non-profit organization formed in 2016. The initiation came from the Chairman and Founder of Himalayan Sherpa Adventure (HSA) - Mr. Phurba Gyaltsen Sherpa, to use 5% of its profit in the development of the Everest region and other rural areas of Nepal. The main objective of the foundation is to provide quality education, better health care, protect and preserve the mountainous regions and its heritage. HSF's Chairman, Mr. Phurba Gyaltsen Sherpa, was also at the forefront during the 2015 Nepal earthquake by distributing emergency relief funds and materials to the affected communities. With his network of friends from all over the world, he was able to quickly gather support to help many local families,and aid in reconstruction of schools and monasteries. The hospital is set to benefit the locals who at present need to walk for hours just to get basic medical treatment or need to fly to the capital, Kathmandu, making it very arduous and expensive. The hospital will also serve the travelers in the region and provide care without them needing to cancel their year long planned trip and fly back to Kathmandu. Besides this, the hospital will generate employment opportunities by creating jobs to the locals. HSF, since its inception has been actively working in remote communities of Nepal helping to build schools, hospitals and places that hold cultural significances such as Buddhist monasteries.
