The Hispanic American Foundation Company Profile, Contacts & Intelligence
The Hispanic American Foundation Overview
Founded in 1990, HAF Tulsa was established as a nonprofit organization operating under IRS Rule 501(c)(3). At the heart of the Foundation is education, and in the last four years, HAF has allocated 75% of the Foundation’s net revenue to educational programs. The Need Is Growing More than 85,000 people (approximately 13%) identify as Hispanic or Latino in Tulsa County. Most (10.2%) are of Mexican heritage, with 0.7% and 0.3% having Puerta Rican and Cuban heritage respectively (American Community Survey, 2018). Over the next seven years, Hispanic student growth in grades 9th to 12th is expected to outpace all other ethnic groups. Higher graduation rates have increased matriculation rates into college resulting in more students competing for scholarship awards. This need is compounded as many Hispanic students are first-generation college students from lower-income families (Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities Legislative Report, April 2020). Working with our donors and partners, we raise money to fill this gap. Why? We believe Education is a means by which each person can be equipped to succeed.
