Founded in 1994, Hong Kong Academy of Engineering 香港工程院 (HKAE, formerly known as the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences) was formed by eminent engineers of various disciplines who are recognized leaders of the profession with distinguished achievements in engineering sciences or applications. The primary goal of HKAE is to advance science and engineering practices for the betterment of Hong Kong. Apart from supporting education and research programmes, it engages in policy research and provides expert advice on engineering related matters to the government and other organizations.
