Established in 1963, Holmes College has been leading private provider of education in Australia for 58 years. Holmes first began teaching international students in 1986 and has been under the current board of directors since 1989. Holmes Education Group began operating ELT colleges around the world under the OHC brand in 2012 in London.
Since obtaining degree awarding powers in 2004, Holmes has developed three postgraduate programmes, including an MBA, and four undergraduate qualifications in business, information systems and fashion business. All degrees are currently accredited by TEQSA with no conditions - https://www.teqsa.gov.au/national-register/provider/holmes-institute-pty-ltd-trustee-holmes-institute-trust . The institute comes up for re-registration in 2021.
Holmes has established a research centre in cyber security concentrating on security and privacy in the IoT, and on cryptography. This focus will inform teaching and learning in the Information Systems department of the coming years.
The college has an established corporate and academic governance structure which includes membership of internal and external experts who have significant experience in corporate and academic governance, risk management, financial management, and academic quality.
