HomEat (隐食家) Overview

HomEat’s purpose is to build people’s private kitchen brand by creating an online platform which allows people without restaurants to share the food they make with others. Chefs or “hosts” can cook either domestic or international cuisine and are able to create their personal homepage, write their story, post photos of their private kitchens, share information through social media platforms, and display their guests' comments. The host’s house becomes a rendezvous for people who love food and want to use it as a social platform in order to make new friends and connections for the future. The hosts come from a variety of trades and professions which not only make this an experience in which one can share a meal with others, but also an experience in which one can network with people in various fields. The chef or “host” will accept ratings and comments by his/her guests which will be linked directly to his/her profile and will allow future guests to see what their dining experience with that host was like. There is no longer a need to search for a restaurant in China and worry about whether or not it’s going to have good food. HomEat eliminates the need for high-end high-class restaurants that are very expensive; we listen to what the customer really wants which is a stress-free homelike environment. HomEat redefines the restaurant experience by allowing the customer to customize his/her experience; one can choose the location where one would like to eat whether this be an outdoor garden, a church, the dining room table, etc. At HomEat, food is a medium of communication used by people who invite strangers into their home, share their dining room table, and make new friends and connections. The hosts not only focus on the food, but they also pay a lot of attention to the social aspect of the dinner in order to ensure that the patrons have the best experience possible.
