Hopkins Bigs was created in response to the nationwide implementation of distance learning due to COVID-19 restrictions. In our own community of Hopkins, Minnesota, we saw that elementary school students were not getting the help that they needed in order to create a strong educational base and advance their knowledge of core subjects such as math, english, and science.
A group of recent alumni partnered with the Hopkins School Administration to create a program for all students to receive free, online, and individualized tutoring. Hopkins Bigs matches students with specific tutors to ensure that every kid gets taught in a way that is best for their unique learning style. Tutors will work with students multiple times a week to help students with their current classwork and challenge students to learn more.
