O & W Hurley Rail Trail Overview

The O & W Hurley Rail Trail is a public trail available to the community free of charge for recreational activities like biking, walking, running and rollerblading in the historic town of Hurley, NY in Ulster County. The paved portion runs for 2.2 miles along State Route 209 in Hurley, NY and then becomes cinder as it enters the woods and continues into Marbletown and beyond. The O&W Hurley Rail Trail is part of the 125 mile D&H Heritage Corridor which runs from Carbondale, PA to Kingston, NY. This corridor includes the remains of the D&H canal and O&W Railroad sections, which have been transformed into multi-use public trails. Getting there: 3 Parking areas on the trail exist 1) Esopus Creek parking lot: State Route 209 one mile from the traffic circle in Kingston 2) Russell Road parking lot: Intersection of Russell Road and State Route 209 3)Hurley-Marbletown trailhead parking lot: State Route 209 just prior to the Farm Hub stand at the Hurley/Marbletown border. Local organizations adopt and maintain planted berms. We want to extend our greatest appreciation for all of their efforts in keeping the trail beautiful!
