Huygens Optics Overview

Huygens Optics specializes in low-volume production of parts from various glasses and glass-ceramics, such as NBK-7, S-BLS7, borosilicate glass, quartz, Al2O3, Zerodur®, CLEARCERAM®. New parts can be produced to customer specifications. Existing parts, such as optical filters, can be cut to the required dimensions. Standard components used in mechanical applications can be modified in size, flatness, or parallelism. The workshop has diamond tooling equipment to do the following machining operations on glass and ceramics: drilling, milling, radius grinding (up to 130mm), sawing and fine grinding and (optical) polishing. In addition, Huygens Optics can also supply products with specific PVD-coatings. The technological knowledge on materials and processes within Huygens Optics is also available as technical support for companies that have a need for a sparring partner in their innovation processes. In February 2017, Huygens Optics has become the official sales representative for DRELLO products in the Netherlands. DRELLO produces high-end flashlight- and LED stroboscopes for quality control and inspection in (for example) the printing- and automotive manufacturing industry. In general, stroboscopes can be used for studying very fast repetitive motions, and quantitative measurements on objects moving at very high speed. We also also offer measurement and test instrumentation for ballistic equipment.
