I.S.E.O Institute (Institute for Studies on Economics and Employment) is a non profit association based in Iseo (Northern Italy). The institute was founded in 1998 by Nobel Laureate in Economics Franco Modigliani and it is currently chaired by professor Robert Solow, Nobel Laureate in Economics 1987. The main goal of the association is promoting the analysis and the discussion about the world economy, focusing on topics which are also connected to social aspects such as development, growth and employment issues. Since 1998, I.S.E.O has organized 50 international conferences and meetings that were attended by 33 Nobel Laureates in Economic Sciences, eminent economists from all over the world, Government officials, and representatives from entrepreneurial and trade union associations. Currently, the most well-known activity of the institute is the I.S.E.O international Summer School reserved to graduate students of Economics and Social Sciences. The course takes place every year in Iseo, during the last week of June. Started in 2004, the I.S.E.O Summer School has been attended so far by 918 participants (master and phd students) coming from 100 Countries and 335 Universities around the world. Among the panel of the speakers, each edition of the I.S.E.O Summer School features Nobel Laureates in Economics and international economists.
