IBS was founded in 1960 as a family-owned business, initially focusing on automotive radiator repair and small-scale production. Adapting to market demands, we shifted our focus to OEM customers in the heavy-duty and agricultural machinery sectors. A significant turning point came in 2000 with the launch of our new facility, enabling the production of Aluminum Brazed coolers using the CAB (Controlled Atmosphere Brazing) process. This advanced technology allowed IBS to specialize in brazing, welding, and metallurgy development, expanding our product portfolio to a full range of Plate & Bar coolers for oil, water, and air. We also significantly improved product performance in terms of pressure, reliability, and corrosion resistance. In 2006, IBS became part of the HYDAC Group, providing us with the opportunity to share our expertise within an international company with a global presence. This led to the construction of a state-of-the-art facility in 2008, featuring a new CAB Furnace, Paint Flux Machine, and Robotic Welding. Further technological advancements followed in 2011 with the installation of another CAB Aluminum Brazing Furnace, a high-speed Paint Flux Machine, and the introduction of railway certification. By 2015, IBS had not only optimized its own production processes but also became the lead for the international development of additional HYDAC cooler manufacturing facilities, including HYDAC USA and HYDAC China.
