Founded as MuTek Solutions in 1996, Identify Software developed application problem resolution (APR) software and solutions for enterprises, software vendors, and IT consultancies. With its flagship products – BugTrapper, AppSight, and the accompanying software Black Box – Identify offered an application problem resolution system that helped development teams determine the root cause of software bugs and customer issues in .NET, Windows-based, and J2EE applications. Since its acquisition in 2006, the company has operated as a subsidiary of BMC Software, Inc.
