About IDTC (Industrial Digitalisation Technology Centre)

The IDTC (Industrial Digitalisation Technology Centre) supports SMEs in the Tees Valley to explore the opportunities from Industry 2.0 to Industry 4.0 technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, modelling, simulation and sensor technology - creating an essential competitive edge that generates real value for businesses. The IDTC provides a way for SMEs to de-risk their investment. We work with you to structure an innovation project that is practical and pragmatic and most importantly, at the right pace and level for your business. We break down the jargon and buzzwords to explore the opportunities available, and help you bridge the gap between where your business is now and where it needs to be. The program is divided into two strands: - Strand 1 delivery is a light touch analysis of your business to establish any ‘quick-wins’ you may be able to implement in a short timeframe. This a 12 hour support package and includes around 8 hours of your time (just one day of an average working week) and we cover the rest. - Strand 2 delivery is a 3+ month project utilising the consultancy support of the IDTC expertise and University academics to develop an innovative proof-of-concept of a new-to-market or new-to-firm product. Eligibility for the programme requires a business to be either a small or medium-sized enterprise, employing under 250 staff with a turnover below €50m per annum.
