IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is the world’s largest professional technical organisation dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. The IEEE University of Melbourne Student Branch is an active and dedicated arm of IEEE within the IEEE Victorian Section. We have over 100 undergraduate and postgraduate members with a strong level of participation in activities and events. Our mission consists of four core goals:
To bring leading industry professionals and academics to the University of Melbourne to enrich the knowledge of students
To provide support and guidance to improve academic excellence
To facilitate workshops and seminars for professional development
To establish connections between students and industrial partners
We also regularly organise a number of social activities where members from different departments can interact in a relaxed atmosphere. The IEEE UniMelb Student Branch was awarded runner-up of the Australian Best Student Branch Award in 2013 and the IEEE UniMelb WIE (Women in Engineering Student Affinity Group) was awarded Best WIE Student Affinity Group in 2014.
