The Junior Inventor of the Year (JIY) competition was pioneered by the Institution of Engineers,
Sri Lanka (IESL) in 1980. It promotes creativity, inventiveness, and ingenuity amongst school
children. The main objective is empowering young minds, the competition allows students
to present innovations of their own and offers recognition they truly desire.
