For the first time in Greece, students from multiple schools at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Democritus University of Thrace join forces to form a multidisciplinary scientific team, which will participate in the iGEM 2017 competition; a world-renowned international competition in synthetic biology. The team’s vision is to design and implement a novel biological system to make substantial improvements to major medical problems. The final objective is the presentation of the results to the international scientific community during the competition’s “Giant Jamboree” on November 9-13, 2017 in Boston.
