IIA Central Virginia Chapter Overview

The IIA Central Virginia Chapter proudly serves over 500 members across the Richmond area, including all cities and counties within the 804 area code, as well as the Charlottesville region. Our mission is to advance and strengthen the internal audit profession within Central Virginia’s business community by delivering outstanding services to our members and upholding the highest professional standards. We are committed to effectively managing our chapter’s responsibilities while fostering a supportive and engaging network. The motto of an early Central Virginia Chapter leader—“Progress Through Sharing”—was embraced during their tenure as The IIA’s International President and quickly adopted as the official motto of The IIA. That spirit still guides our chapter today as we work together to learn, grow, and support one another. Each year, we offer an extensive schedule of Continuing Professional Education through local events and our signature Virginia Training Academy, hosted in partnership with the Tidewater and Southwest Virginia Chapters. We also collaborate with organizations like the ISACA Virginia Chapter to expand networking and professional development opportunities for our members. We invite members to get involved—whether by supporting events, contributing to our newsletter, speaking at functions, or joining a committee. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and continue to grow the internal audit profession in Central Virginia.
