The Ocular Microsurgery Institute (IMO) is an ophthalmology clinic dedicated to the treatment of ocular diseases as well as the protection and preservation of vision. Our primary goal from the very beginning has been to offer top quality ophthalmic care and ensure the very best personal and professional care for our patients. The pathologies treated at the IMO include cataracts, retinal detachment, eye problems in children, strabismus, glaucoma, macular degeneration, uveitis, diseases of the eyelids and the orbit, corneal diseases, myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.
In addition to a high level of care, the IMO is noted for its research work, its participation in numerous international, multi-centre studies and its teaching, reflected in the continuous training of our medical and health staff, as well as the preparation of new subspecialisations through the IMO’s teaching department, in conjunction with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, founded in 2000 and headed by Dr Borja Corcóstegui, the director of the IMO.
