Incredible Credible Messengers, Inc. (ICM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is the only NYC-based organization dedicated to implementing restorative practices as an approach to violence interruption and youth development to heal from violence, crime, racism, the juvenile justice system, and poverty, fostering change within themselves and their communities. Program activities include trauma-responsive healing circles, workshops, job and life skills development, advocacy, case management, grassroots advocacy, organizing and mobilization, and structured participant-led forums. ICM operates from the perspective that “healed people, heal people,” so our credible messengers work as disruptors of social dysfunction by introducing restorative practices and healing as norms within the community. Serving about 200 youth each year, we provide holistic approaches through storytelling and trauma-responsive restorative practices to help youth heal and actively advocate for the healing of their community.
