What is GRCS, it is GRC with security. Having started my career over 25 years ago as a die hard techie, living in a black bash shell with a blinking green cursor on a Linux or Unix machine (with a Matrix screensaver). When I transitioned into the realm of GRC, I asked, where is the "S". I mean that's where most of the controls that Governance talks about, Risks are managed and Compliance is enforced. That's why I've been using the GRCS term for over 18 years.
All four disciplines have to work together as one organic being and cannot exist or work very well in a silo from the others. Just like with a real organic being, all the parts should and have to work together for the organization to be healthy and succeed.
I help organizations understand how all 4 of them should operate individually and together as single entity. Providing guidance on how they can or should align with each other and how to specifically map them. This includes mapping control statements i.e. Governance, to risks i.e. Risk Management, to requirements i.e. Compliance, to the actual controls or processes that will manage both the risks and compliance requirements i.e. Security.
