InnovaTex Project Overview

Transforming Textile Education Through Digital Innovation InnovaTex is an EU-funded Erasmus+ initiative revolutionizing the textile industry in Moldova and Ukraine through advanced digital education and smart textile innovation. Our program bridges critical gaps between traditional vocational training and the rapidly evolving demands of the modern textile sector. At our core is the establishment of two state-of-the-art Smart Labs—one in Moldova and one in Ukraine—equipped with cutting-edge 3D scanning technology, textile testing equipment, and digital visualization tools. These specialized facilities serve as educational hubs where students, educators, and industry professionals gain hands-on experience with smart textile development, fabric digitization, and sustainable production methods. Our curriculum encompasses ten specialized modules covering essential aspects of smart textiles: from fabric characterization and digitalization to 3D modeling, sensor integration, and digital camouflage development. Led by KNUTD with contributions from all project partners, our educational framework emphasizes practical application and real-world relevance. The InnovaTex training approach focuses on three strategic objectives: preparing specialized courses, developing comprehensive educational programs with innovative methodologies, and validating these courses through hands-on training. Participants gain expertise in digital textile characterization, smart fabric integration for PPE, sustainable production techniques, and advanced visualization methods.
