The Innovation Design Consortium (IDC) is a public benefit corporation created to drive progress across the architecture and engineering industry. Founded by 41 of the largest U.S. firms, IDC tackles shared technology challenges that transcend competition, pooling resources to develop solutions that benefit the entire design community.
Our Story
Born out of the AIA Large Firm Round Table, IDC addresses a simple yet critical realization: firms were independently solving the same technology challenges without differentiation. By collaborating, we eliminate redundancies and free firms to focus on their unique strengths. Operating independently, IDC now offers membership-based access to innovative tools and platforms for firms of all sizes.
How We Work
The IDC Steering Committee, composed of representatives from founding firms ranging from 150 to 2,000+ professionals, drives our initiatives. Our seven-member Board of Directors and Executive Committee ensure each project aligns with industry priorities and is supported by the expertise of member firms and third-party collaborators.
