InSilicoHealth is an innovative European Doctoral Network with the ambition to train a new generation of outstanding Doctoral Candidates that will become effective translators of the rapidly evolving digital technology to tackle existing and future challenges related with healthy ageing in Europe.
This Doctoral Network is conceptualized to provide a 360° view on the methodological, technological, ethical, social, and regulatory challenges associated with this digital revolution of healthcare.
InSilicoHealth specifically focuses on virtual human twin technology to enhance our understanding of the age-related adaptive changes of the complex human body through predictive multi-scale simulations. The immense potential of in silico health solutions for improving prevention, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring, and management of health-related issues can be achieved through high quality research.
The training programme of InSilicoHealth will stimulate close interdisciplinary interaction between 11 Doctoral Candidates with different educational backgrounds (Health Sciences, Engineering, and Social Sciences). InSilicoHealth will provide the Doctoral Candidates with unique real-world learning experiences through the involvement of industrial partners and close collaboration with clinical actors and patient organisations.
The involved beneficiary universities of InSilicoHealth (N=8) are: KU Leuven, Politecnico di Torino, TU Delft, Ghent University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Friedrich-Alexander-Universitat Erlangen-Nurnberg.
