A coalition founded in 1991, IGCP's mission is to conserve the critically endangered mountain gorillas and their habitat through partnering with key stakeholders while significantly contributing to sustainable livelihood development.
IGCP is a coalition partnership between the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF), Fauna & Flora International (FFI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). IGCP also works closely with the Protected Area Authorities in Rwanda, Uganda and the DRC, including the Rwanda Development Board, Uganda Wildlife Authority, and L'Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature.
IGCP's work fall into four areas: species conservation, conservation incentives, transboundary natural resource management, and advocacy.
