Workplace Violence Prevention Training. Our goal is simple. We strive to safely turn every difficult encounter into a peaceful solution, while minimizing stress and danger for everyone involved. We instruct skills to staff such as de-escalation, risk management and crisis intervention. From verbal and non verbal de-escalation to hands on work place violence release and escape techniques, our programs keep your clinical, security staff, and patient safe with minimal risk of injury.
To give an example; our De-Escalate to Safe State (DESS) program is an empathetic approach to de-escalation teaches staff important verbal skills, such as establishing common ground with patients and keeping the line of communication neutral and open. Staff will also learn invaluable non-verbal skills, such as softening their body language and gaze as well as respecting the patient’s personal space.
ITTC's Response Control Techniques (RCT) provides security officers with the knowledge and physical skill to re-direct difficult or dangerous encounters safely. Once patients are safely re-directed and are in a Safe State, they can receive the appropriate treatment from clinical staff.
The ITTC's Staff Response Training (SRT) is a unique workplace violence program offered by ITTC. Adaptable to your needs, SRT teaches clinical staff “3 Areas of Awareness,” “Release and Escape” techniques, and several bedside approaches to protect themselves in an aggravated climate. With this knowledge, they can perform their duties with confidence and offer quality treatment once patients reach a “Safe State.” Through this program, we also encourage clear and concise
communication between the clinical staff and your security team.
