IsiDuli is a “social enterprise” with focus on “housing industry”.
As a social enterprise our driving mission is to impact our communities by:
- Alleviating poverty among Property Owners in the Township
- Proving access to affordable rental housing stock for young families.
We do this through our credit product that is designed for the development of backyard units in the Townships. Our aim is to create new income opportunities for Property Owners in our townships. Our credit model ensures that the Owner is able to benefit (receive rental income)
whilst repaying the credit installments from month 1 of occupation. All debt repayments will be paid through rental income from the new units.
The product involves development of backyard rooms mostly in Townships in South Africa. Our product is targeted at LSM 1 - 4 markets. IsiDuli finances the transaction and carries out the construction and manages the rental stock (optional - Owner can assume responsibility) including providing property maintenance services to the Owners.
Our customers are Property Owners in Townships who cannot afford to develop their own backrooms to make additional income and those who would like to improve their existing informal stock. Our product is accessible to all Owners (including unemployed).
