ICBG est. 1889 Islamic Council of Great Britain is a council of educated professional Muslims whom act as council for legal arbitration under Islamic Law. All rulings are compliant with the national laws of the United Kingdom at all times, with specific focus on Islamic law. Arbitration is availible for such matters as Islamic Family Law, Islamic Mariage and Divorce, Last Will and Testaments, Inheritances, Business Proceedings, Halal Validation, Employment Law, Intellectual Property, Civil Law, Financial Law, Mental Health and many more areas of significant importance to the lives of the ummah. All rulings (Fatwahs) are decreed by Judges (Qadis) legally trained in UK law schools with further study/apprenticeships in Islamic Law. Judges (Qadis) are supported by Muftis, Sheikhs, Solicitors, Barristers, and peer juries (Council Benches). Depending on individual merits of a case, cases may be arbitrated in chambers, masjid, magistrates court, tribunal, council chambers or other national courts such as the crown court or family court. NOTE: in some instances due to UK laws it may be legally necessary for a Qadi Judge to hand over jurisdiction to a Circuit Judge (non-Islamic-law-judge). UK law must be followed at all times with religious requirements and laws specifically focused on.
